Privacy at a glance
TraksPet helps users care for pets and use compatible GPS pet trackers. The service processes account information, pet profiles, tracker and location information, and data needed for selected features such as safe zones, notifications, emergency contacts, and voice or video calls. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
This Privacy Policy explains how TraksPet (“TraksPet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects information when you use the TraksPet mobile application, compatible trackers, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
Contents
1. Information we collect
The information processed depends on the features you choose to use. It may include:
| Category | Examples | Why it is needed |
|---|---|---|
| Account and profile | Email address, nickname, telephone number, profile photo, gender, birth date, account credentials, session tokens, language preference, and invited family-member details. | To create and secure your account, authenticate you, provide support, personalize the Service, and manage family access. |
| Pet information | Pet name, photo, species, breed, sex, neuter status, birthday, weight, body condition, activity level, feeding, care, health, potty, and reminder records. | To create pet profiles and provide pet-care, history, reminder, and feeding features. Pet-care records describe pets and are not intended to be human medical records. |
| Location information | Precise or approximate phone location when permission is granted, tracker location, location history, routes, trip information, safe-zone coordinates, and location timestamps. | To display the phone and pet tracker on a map, calculate distance, provide location history, support navigation, configure safe zones, and deliver location-related alerts. |
| Tracker and connected-device data | Registration code, tracker IMEI and backend device identifiers, pet-device association, battery level, connectivity and signal status, firmware and configuration, commands, acknowledgements, location frequency, and device event history. “Tracker IMEI” means the identifier of the compatible pet tracker; TraksPet does not request permission to read the phone’s IMEI. | To bind and manage compatible GPS trackers, display their status, send settings and commands, and synchronize tracker responses. |
| Contacts and safety information | Names and telephone numbers entered into the tracker phonebook, SOS contacts, lost-pet contact number, and lost-pet message. | To configure tracker calling and SOS features and help someone contact you if your pet is found. |
| Wi-Fi information | Wi-Fi network name (SSID), access-point identifier (BSSID/MAC), and the selected home Wi-Fi configuration. TraksPet does not ask you to provide the Wi-Fi password for this feature. | To help compatible trackers recognize a home network and improve contextual location behavior. |
| Photos, camera, microphone, and calls | Pet/profile photos you select, camera input used to scan tracker codes, and audio/video transmitted during a user-initiated call. | To personalize profiles, scan registration codes, attach images, and enable voice or video communication with supported trackers. TraksPet does not intentionally record call content. |
| Notifications and diagnostics | Push-notification token, notification interactions, app and operating-system version, device model, IP address in server logs, crash reports, performance information, error logs, and technical identifiers generated by service providers. | To deliver tracker alerts, maintain security, troubleshoot failures, prevent abuse, and improve reliability. |
Information you provide about other people
If you enter a family member, emergency contact, SOS contact, or phonebook contact, you are responsible for having authority to provide that person’s information and for telling them how it will be used.
Information collected automatically
Tracker events, push-notification identifiers, security logs, network information, and diagnostics may be collected automatically when you use the Service. Phone location, camera, microphone, nearby Wi-Fi, and photo-library access are controlled through operating-system permissions.
